Professor Dr. Shaker Mahmood Mayo is a professional Town Planner (P-343)—registered under Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners and is currently holding the responsibility as Chairman, City and Regional Planning Department, UET Lahore. He holds a professional working experience of more than 28 years. He earned his bachelor’s in City and Regional Planning from UET Lahore with distinction (Third Position). In the year 1995 he was awarded DAAD scholarship to pursue P.G.D. and masters in Regional Development Planning from Germany and the Philippines. He completed his masters with distinction (Deans Medallion) and was honored as ‘College Scholar’ and ‘University Scholar’ awards in his program. Later on, he completed his Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning at UET Lahore including a six-month intensive doctoral research at Aichi Gakuin University, Nagoya Japan. He has also published more than twenty research articles in national/international peer reviewed journals and book chapters.
