Former BRT Yellow Line Project Director Zameer Abbasi Arrested in Rs8.5 Billion Corruption Case

Karachi: Former Project Director of Karachi’s BRT Yellow Line project Zameer Abbasi has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) from Lahore. He was taken into custody on charges of making illegal advance payments of over Rs8.5 billion to contractors in violation of financial rules. The case was registered on June 10 following an inquiry report by the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team. Abbasi has been shifted to Karachi where the case will be prosecuted.
