CDA launches Rs7.4 billion Islamabad Expressway project

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a major infrastructure project on Islamabad Expressway with the groundbreaking of a new dual carriageway. The 9-kilometer corridor will feature three lanes on each side and replace the existing service road between Faizabad and the Gulberg Greens stop. Estimated to cost Rs7.4 billion, the project will be executed through a government-to-government arrangement in accordance with public procurement regulations. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to complete the development within 90 days. Officials believe the project will significantly improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance connectivity in the capital. Can this fast-track infrastructure upgrade unlock new investment and development opportunities along Islamabad’s growth corridor?
