Rs 2.4bn approved to upgrade Alhamra Arts Council to international standards

Lahore: The Punjab government has approved Rs 2.4bn for the upgradation of Alhamra Arts Council to international standards. Development work is progressing in phases at the Hall Centre and Cultural Complex. Initial infrastructure upgrades have been completed, while new sewerage pipelines have been laid in the second phase. The third phase includes installation of modern air-conditioning units, upgraded sound systems, CCTV cameras for security, new seating arrangements, carpets, and overall interior renovation. Officials said the project will take around one year to complete and will continue during Ramazan without closing the halls to ensure uninterrupted cultural activities. All work is being carried out under the supervision of the C&W Department.
