Work on Three Underpasses in Rawalpindi to Begin as Kutchery Chowk Project Nears Completion

Rawalpindi: The Punjab Communication and Works Department has completed 64 percent of the Rs 14 billion Kutchery Chowk remodeling project and plans to start construction of three underpasses on Peshawar Road at an estimated cost of Rs 8 billion. Executive Engineer Qamar Ali Saqib said structural work on flyovers and underpasses is complete, with earth filling underway. Utility relocation by Iesco, PTCL, and SNGPL is in progress to ensure smooth execution. The Frontier Works Organisation is executing the project, targeting an April 30 deadline. Officials expect the underpasses to ease congestion, improve traffic flow, and enhance connectivity in the city.
