Lahore: The Punjab government has approved a Differential Fare Model to promote cashless transport across the province. Under the new policy, passengers paying through T-Cash cards or bank cards will be charged lower fares, while cash payments will attract higher charges. The model will apply to Orange Line Train, Lahore Metro Bus, Speedo Bus, Electric Buses, Multan Metro, and Pakistan Metro Bus services. For example, Orange Line fare will be Rs25 via card and Rs45 via cash. Officials say the initiative aims to improve transparency, operational efficiency, increase ridership, and digitize the mass transit system under Punjab Mass Transit Authority’s phased rollout plan.
