CDA Plans to Transform Islamabad into Cultural Tourism Hub

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a comprehensive plan to reposition Islamabad as Pakistan’s leading cultural and tourism capital while preserving its identity as a garden city. For this purpose, CDA has invited proposals from nationally and internationally recognized consultants to serve as Creative Consultant for the federal capital. The initiative aims to go beyond routine beautification by transforming public spaces into a cohesive urban experience through integration of art, culture, heritage, sports, cuisine, ecology, and recreation. The proposed vision includes citywide tourism planning, cultural trails, civic plazas, green corridors, and experience-based destinations to enhance Islamabad’s global appeal.
