Pakistan Railways to Export Coaches and Wagons to Five Countries

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways is preparing to export locally manufactured coaches and wagons to five countries, including Chile, Argentina, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi announced. Speaking to the media, the minister said ambassadors from the target countries will be invited to the Ministry of Railways for detailed project presentations. He highlighted that Pakistan Railways recorded a historic revenue of Rs. 10 billion in December, driven by improved passenger services and operational efficiency. Abbasi added that freight operations have also been strengthened through private sector participation, with goods such as coal, containers, and phosphate now being transported more efficiently. He said Pakistan Railways aims to offer high-quality rolling stock at competitive prices, showcasing Pakistan’s manufacturing and engineering potential in the global market.
