ISLAMABAD: The proposal to declare Islamabad and Kathmandu as sister cities was discussed during a meeting between Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Nepal’s Ambassador Rita Dhital at CDA Headquarters. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation with a focus on urban-level collaboration between the two capitals. Chairman CDA highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing relations with Nepal and briefed the ambassador on Islamabad’s sustainable urban planning, preservation of green spaces, and ongoing beautification initiatives in the Diplomatic Enclave. The Nepali envoy appreciated Islamabad’s natural beauty and urban design. Progress on a draft agreement to formalize the sister cities partnership was also reviewed, along with matters related to the Nepali Embassy plot in the Diplomatic Enclave. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deeper institutional and urban cooperation.
