The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the extension of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service to Jamrud and Bara Bazaar, aiming to improve connectivity between Peshawar and District Khyber. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi. Officials said the expansion will reduce traffic congestion and provide safe, affordable, and efficient transport to residents. Under the plan, 12 new buses will be added, multiple new bus stops will be constructed, and a ramp at Karakhano Market station will be built at a cost of Rs. 500 million. The project is expected to significantly ease daily commuting and boost urban mobility in the region.
