The Master Plans for Divisional and District Headquarters Cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Newly Merged Districts is a comprehensive urban planning initiative aimed at guiding planned growth and sustainable development across key cities of the province. The project is designed to prepare modern, integrated and forward-looking master plans for divisional and district headquarters, addressing long standing issues of unplanned urban expansion, infrastructure gaps, traffic congestion and environmental stress. The initiative supports balanced urbanization while aligning city growth with socio economic development goals.
The project focuses on spatial planning, land use zoning, transport networks, housing development, public services, economic zones and environmental management. Special emphasis is placed on Newly Merged Districts to integrate them into the provincial urban framework through structured planning and infrastructure guidance. Using GIS based mapping, demographic analysis and stakeholder consultations, the master plans provide policy direction for future investments, municipal service delivery and regulatory control, enabling local governments to make informed development decisions.
