Development work on the Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor is moving swiftly as part of Punjab’s broader urban infrastructure upgrade. During a high-level review meeting, officials briefed the provincial minister on construction progress at key junctions, including major chowks where round-the-clock work is underway. The project includes the construction of three underpasses and two flyovers, aimed at easing long-standing traffic congestion. Once completed, the 25-kilometre corridor is expected to facilitate smooth daily movement for nearly 200,000 vehicles, significantly reducing travel time and improving connectivity across the city. Authorities described the project as a game changer for urban mobility, aligning with the provincial government’s vision to modernize transport networks and enhance the quality of life for residents in Rawalpindi.
